On February 5th, more than 1.500 people enjoyed the Fair, which this year featured 50 exhibiting companies.
Professionals and companies in the sector have used this space to create synergies, identify business opportunities and boost their projects
The Canary Islands Logistics Innovation Fair (FILCA) concluded its first edition at the Agüimes Exhibition Centre with a very positive outcome, bringing together more than 1.500 attendees and nearly 50 exhibiting companies from Gran Canaria, Tenerife, and mainland Spain. The Island Councillor for Economic Development, Industry, Commerce, and Crafts, Minerva Alonso, emphasized that logistics is a strategic sector for the island and the Canary Islands as a whole, and confirmed that a second edition will take place next year, strengthened by institutional and business cooperation. The fair is promoted and financed by the Gran Canaria Island Council, organized by Infecar Feria de Gran Canaria, and supported by the Agüimes City Council.
Over two days, FILCA offered a space for showcasing products and services, generating business contacts, and fostering professional discussion through presentations and roundtables. Among the topics addressed were the challenges of operating in a fragmented territory, customs complexities, the need to rely on local operators, and the importance of advancing digitalization with effective change management, involving both organizations and end users.
The roundtables also focused on sustainability, port competitiveness, taxation, regulatory simplification, and the lack of suitable logistics and industrial spaces, underscoring the need for better planning, infrastructure investment, and public-private partnerships. Overall, FILCA is establishing itself as a new meeting point to promote the modernization of the business sector and strengthen the logistics chain in the Canary Islands.
