An analysis of hotel prices in southern Gran Canaria reveals a well-defined market strategy for the high season, extending until March 2026. During these next few weeks, a stay in a 5-star hotel on the island will cost an average of €343 per night. This figure positions the destination in a competitive middle ground: it is more affordable than Tenerife, where the price rises to €383, but remains above the €268 average for Mallorca during the same period.
For those seeking mid-range and high-end options, the offerings in southern Gran Canaria maintain a balanced price range between January and March. Four-star establishments have an average price of €201, while three-star hotels average €141. These rates reflect the island's appeal as a winter retreat compared to less seasonal destinations.
Beyond the cost, tourist satisfaction in Gran Canaria is remarkable, according to an analysis of thousands of reviews on portals such as TripAdvisor, Booking.com, and Expedia. The island's 5-star hotels achieve an average rating of 79,5, surpassing the 77,6 rating of establishments in the same category in Tenerife. This perception of quality is a key factor that offsets the price difference with other destinations.
This leadership in guest satisfaction extends to the more basic categories, where Gran Canaria stands out from its direct competitors. Four-star hotels achieve a satisfaction score of 68,1 points. Meanwhile, three-star hotels reach 66,1 points, a significantly higher figure than their counterparts in Tenerife (56,2) or the Turkish city of Antalya (55,2). These figures solidify southern Gran Canaria's position as a destination where visitors perceive a better balance between service and price.
