We ask citizens to maintain civic and respectful behavior in public spaces.
Remembering that caring for the urban environment is a shared responsibility

Five flamboyant trees were intentionally uprooted early Thursday morning on European Union Avenue, in what authorities and residents describe as an act of vandalism that affects the environmental heritage and urban image of the area.

According to initial reports, the trees were planted in the median of the road and were several years old. At dawn, residents of the area discovered that the trees had been uprooted, leaving visible damage to the green space and scattered debris.

Residents and merchants expressed their outrage at the events, pointing out that the flamboyant trees not only beautified the avenue, but were also in full growth to provide shade and help mitigate the high temperatures.

Municipal authorities have announced that an inspection will be carried out to determine responsibility and assess the damage caused. We urge citizens to maintain civic and respectful behavior in public spaces, remembering that caring for the urban environment is a shared responsibility.

The San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council reiterates its call to citizens to report any act that threatens the urban environment and assures that the corresponding sanctions will be applied in accordance with current law.
