San Bartolomé de Tirajana pays tribute to female leadership and talent at the SBT Woman Gala 2026

The Department of Equality of the City Council of the Villa de San Bartolomé de Tirajana organized the SBT Woman Gala 2026, an official event designed as recognition of the dedication, talent and career of women from the municipality who stand out for their contribution in the social, cultural, professional and community fields.

 

This event, included in the program for International Women's Day, highlighted the essential role of women in the growth and identity of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, valuing those who, from different sectors, promote social progress and strengthen the community fabric.

 

The gala was divided into four major thematic sections that represented different facets of female leadership in the municipality.

 

Roots and Culture

 

The first section focused on women who keep alive and project the local artistic and cultural identity.

Awards given to:

 

SBT Woman of Canarian Identity for Luisa Dolores Rodríguez Segura, for her work in preserving and transmitting popular traditions.
SBT Alma Artesana Woman Award goes to Clara Cabeza González, for her dedication to crafts and creativity.
SBT Woman Lighthouse of Culture award for Ariadna Hafez Navarro, for her artistic career in the field of dance.

 

 

Commitment and Community

 

A section dedicated to women who contribute to social well-being and strengthen community ties. Awards presented to:

 

SBT Woman Social Commitment for Ana Demetrio Pulido.
SBT Woman Community Boost for Margarita Jiménez Suárez.
SBT Woman's Hands for Mª Antonia Guerra Arbelo.
SBT Woman, Solidarity Heart for Arista Jaime Báez. Leadership and Trajectory

 

 

This section recognized professional careers and personal trajectories that have left a relevant mark on society.

 

Awards given to:

 

SBT Woman Root of Wisdom, for her dedication to teaching, for Carmen Pérez Pérez.
SBT Woman Life Footprint Award, for her outstanding career in the health sector, for Sonia María Medina Macías.
SBT Woman Lighthouse Woman, for being an example and inspiration to the community, for Manuela García Martínez.

 

 

Talent and Future

 

The final segment emphasized the talent, effort, and perspectives of women who symbolize both the present and the future of the municipality.

 

Awards given to:

 

SBT Women's Sports Strength for Ana Margarita Cabrera López.
SBT Seed of the Future Woman, a young role model in karate at the national and international level, for Indira Zúñiga García.
SBT Woman Entrepreneurial Soul, for her promotion of economic and business development, for Africa Padrón Padrón.

During the gala, attendees were also able to enjoy artistic performances that brought excitement and spectacle to the event, among which the exhibition of the aerial acrobat Estrella Jiménez and the musical intervention of the singer Kimy Tow stood out.

 

 

The awards were presented by Mr. Marco Aurelio Pérez Sánchez, mayor of the Illustrious City Council of the Town of San Bartolomé de Tirajana; Ms. María Elena Álamo Vega, second deputy mayor and councilor of the Government Area of ​​Presidency, Human Resources, Culture, Equality, Youth and Education; and Ms. Esther Pino Delgado, councilor of Culture, Equality, Youth and Education.

 

The SBT Women's Gala 2026 was created with the objective of publicly recognizing the contribution of women to the development of the municipality, giving visibility to stories of effort, commitment and talent that constitute a fundamental part of the identity, present and future of San Bartolomé de Tirajana.
