The representative of the British newspaper focused on wellness activities and experiences in nature.

Gran Canaria, renowned for decades as a health and wellness destination, continues to attract many visitors. This time, the UK newspaper The iPaper has traveled to the island to publish a digital feature focused on wellness in its broadest sense. This includes not only relaxation treatments and healthy food, but also connecting with nature and local produce.

The associations Gran Canaria Spa, Wellness & Health and Gran Canaria Natural & Active joined forces to design a tailor-made itinerary for the visiting journalist. This proposal reinforces the synergies between products and will reach the publication's approximately 354.000 daily readers.

One of the key aspects of the trip was the hotel. It had to be strategically located and capable of meeting the health and wellness needs of this type of traveler. With its thalassotherapy center, a pioneer in Gran Canaria, the Gloria Palace San Agustín Thalasso & Hotel was the top choice. The i Paper was able to experience firsthand the benefits of seawater at Thalasso Gloria – San Agustín, as well as enjoy a 50-minute massage and body scrub.

From this base, the correspondent was able to travel around the island to visit charming locations. The first of these was the La Jaira de Ana farm school . The essence of this project, founded in 2002, lies in the care of biodiversity and Canarian resources, bringing nature closer primarily to families. Here, the reporter was able to participate in a workshop on artisanal cheesemaking and stroll through the farm before continuing his adventure.

Over time, the concept of wellness has evolved and is no longer limited to leisurely or relaxing experiences. Often, well-being is also found in dynamic activities and experiences that encourage movement. This is the case with the Volcano Heart Tour, organized and guided by the active tourism company Climbo . A tour designed to make you fall in love with the volcanic nature of Gran Canaria and breathe in the fresh air.

Another place she visited was one of the Finca Canarias Aloe Vera farms to learn about this organic crop. Located in El Goro, on the east coast of Gran Canaria, they have a 16.000-square-meter space in a volcanic landscape where they hold an exclusive aloe vera workshop. However, at all their farms, visitors can receive a free talk about the benefits of aloe vera and the products derived from its natural gel.

To end his trip with a moment of relaxation, the journalist stopped at Salobre Hotel Resort & Serenity . On another day dedicated to wellness on the island, he enjoyed the Be Aloe Wellness spa, surrounded by the tranquility of the mountains. He also took the opportunity to learn about Tempo, an innovative program that combines sleep science and comfort to improve the quality of rest during guests' stay at the resort.

After several days combining outdoor activities, local cuisine, and spaces focused on holistic well-being, it was time to return to rainy Britain. The i Paper leaves Gran Canaria with a renewed vision of the destination and the certainty that well-being is also experienced through movement, the landscape, and connection with the environment.
