MASPALOMAS INTERNATIONAL CARNIVAL PROGRAM 2026
Come one, come all! The circus world is here! The Carnival's opening float paraded through the main streets of Maspalomas on Tuesday afternoon, so everything is now ready for the official start of the Maspalomas International Carnival this Wednesday, March 11th, with the presentation of the 36 entries that will compete in the main galas, and the order of their participation being drawn.
Furthermore, the Department of Festivals, headed by Councilor Yilenia Vega, has unveiled the details of the stage design for the 2026 Maspalomas International Carnival, an edition to be held from March 10th to 22nd under the theme "The World of the Circus." The main stage, conceived by set designer Cristian Rodríguez—who has been working on this project since 2017—will be an open space 30 meters wide, 12 meters high, and 13 meters deep. The visual design aims to create, in the designer's own words, a "postcard to remember," using symbolism where the circle is the absolute protagonist: from the top-down view of the tent to rotating hoops and juggling balls, transforming the stage layout into a direct tribute to traditional and contemporary circus aesthetics.

The technical infrastructure for this edition stands out for its cutting-edge technology and a firm commitment to environmental sustainability. The installation, handled by Sonocom, will integrate nearly 100 lighting points and over 220 square meters of LED screens. All the equipment used has been selected based on low-consumption criteria to reinforce the organization's eco-friendly stance, aiming to minimize the event's energy impact. This technical setup will allow the artistic direction, led by Josué Quevedo, to create an immersive experience of "joy, color, and creativity" that will transform Maspalomas into a grand tent of emotions for residents and tourists alike.
