MASPALOMAS INTERNATIONAL CARNIVAL PROGRAM 2026

 

The Yumbo Shopping Centre dressed up to celebrate the election of the Grand Dame of the Maspalomas International Carnival 2026. On a night marked by the talent and elegance of veterans, Inmaculada Ojeda Guerra, representing the El Tablero Senior Centre, won the crown thanks to the fantasy "Besito Volao", designed by Masbe Creaciones.

 

 

 

The court of honor was completed with the selection of Carmen Santana Suárez as first lady-in-waiting, wearing the costume "Passion for You!", and Margarita Araña Talavera as second lady-in-waiting, who wore the design "For a Lifetime". The presentation of sashes and trophies was attended by the highest municipal authorities: Mayor Marco Aurelio Pérez, First Deputy Mayor Alejandro Marichal, and Councilor for Tourism, Events and Festivities Yilenia Vega.

 

 

 

 

 

The gala, presented by Ibán Padrón and Omayra Cazorla, began with an opening performance by the comparsa Aragüimé. However, the most moving moment of the evening came immediately afterward, with the emotional tribute to Zaraida Loreto, a hair and makeup teacher at the IES Faro de Maspalomas. The organizers wished to commemorate her long-standing collaboration with the carnival galas following her recent passing, highlighting her professional and personal impact on the festival.

 

 

 

The rhythm of the evening grew with each musical performance. Canarian artist Pepe Benavente had the entire venue dancing to his hit "Polvorete," while Falete provided the artistic grand finale. His deeply felt and theatrical performance captivated the audience, who expressed their enthusiasm with a standing ovation. The jury, composed of Ani Rivero Rodríguez, Timanfaya Gil, Juan Peña Manzano, Miriam Rosario Mendoza, Oana Carmen Giorgescu, Cristian Hernández Marrero, and Yeray Batista Castro, had the difficult task of evaluating the six contestants. The evening concluded with the traditional party following the reading of the official record and the crowning of the new Grand Dame, Inmaculada Ojeda Guerra.
