The event, which will be held from March 20 to 29, has a new location on the roof of this centrally located parking garage in Maspalomas.
Around twenty different trades will be represented at the fair by 65 artisans from 15 municipalities across the island.
The Gran Canaria Primavera Sur Craft Fair returns from March 20th to 29th to showcase the work of the island's professional artisans, and it will do so in a new location. For its 15th edition, the event will move to the rooftop of the Maspalomas Lighthouse Parking Garage, where 65 artisans from 15 municipalities across Gran Canaria will gather to demonstrate 23 crafts, three of which are traditional.
The new location, spread across several tents, will once again host this highly attractive event for both island residents and tourists, who, for another year, will be able to enjoy original, high-quality, and handmade crafts. Items made by professionals in pottery and basketry; cutlery; ceramics, leather goods, jewelry and fashion; blacksmiths and wool spinners, among many others, will share space in the south of the island to showcase their work and sell the pieces they have produced in recent months.
The most represented craft at this year's fair is jewelry making, with eight artisans, followed by ceramics, with six professionals, and macramé, leather goods, and fashion, with five people each working in their respective fields. Visitors will also find soaps, toys, baskets, patchwork quilts, and dolls, among many other unique products lovingly crafted in different parts of the island.
Once again, the municipality of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will have the largest representation at the fair, with 24 artisans; followed by Agüimes, with eight, and Telde with six. Five professionals from San Bartolomé de Tirajana, four from Santa Lucía de Tirajana, and three from Ingenio will also be attending. The towns of Valsequillo, Teror, Santa Brígida, Mogán, Firgas, and Agaete will each contribute two professionals, while San Mateo, Gáldar, and Arucas will each send one representative.
This showcase of the island's crafts, where tradition and innovation come together, will be open from March 20th to 29th, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. In addition to visiting the craft stalls, the event will feature a program of musical performances on weekends to liven up the experience. La Musicleta will kick off the program on Sunday, March 22nd, at 12:00 PM, while the groups DelBueno Marching Band, Asentaos y Tumbaos, and Misi Live Music will perform the following weekend, from Friday to Sunday, respectively, always at 5:00 PM.
