MASPALOMAS INTERNATIONAL CARNIVAL PROGRAM 2026

The Yumbo Shopping Centre stage hosted the Children's Queen Gala for the 2026 Maspalomas International Carnival on Friday evening, March 13th. The evening, filled with excitement and hosted by presenters Mingo Ávila and Jared, captured the essence of the circus with an opening number featuring the popular character Dumbo. The jury, presided over by Wendy Pavillard and composed of professionals such as Isaías J. Carrasco, Alberto Sanluis, Tamara Padrón, Aitami Diepa, Julieta Castellanini, and Beatriz Sánchez, had the difficult task of evaluating the candidates vying to succeed the outgoing queen, Aylin Climent Padrón. The opening number gave way to a parade of creativity where the municipality's dance groups, including those of Emily Domínguez, Levi and Estrella, Carmen Cabrera, Dunia Morales, and Alexia Rodríguez, brought dynamism and rhythm to the evening.

The day's big winner, Suhayla Lisbey Moya Rodríguez, took the crown after dazzling everyone with her costume entitled "Flying Over the Sky of My City," designed by Kevin Rodríguez González and sponsored by Capross 2004 SL. The list of winners was completed with an inclusive milestone: the title of first runner-up went to Naret Rodríguez Santana, who participated with her costume "The Whisper," designed by Crearte Diseños and sponsored by Cicar Canary Islands Car. Third place was awarded to Anixua García Hernández, whose costume was designed by Ayhtami and Omar Rodríguez and sponsored by the Lakota Study Center and Almeida Dental Clinic. The musical portion of the event reached its peak with a performance by Cantajuego, who delighted the family audience with their greatest hits, turning the venue into a true party.

The awards ceremony was attended by key municipal authorities. Mayor Marco Aurelio Pérez presented the award to the new Children's Queen, Suhayla Lisbey Moya Rodríguez, while First Deputy Mayor Alejandro Marichal presented the historic award to the first runner-up, Naret Rodríguez Santana. Councilor for Tourism Yilenia Vega presented the award to the second runner-up, Anixua García Hernández. This concluded a night that will go down in the history of the southern carnival. Maspalomas, just as it did in the past with Transkarnatival (now Drag Queen), has once again set a precedent, a testament to an evolving society.
