The Maspalomas International Carnival is preparing for a Queen's Gala with 10 candidates and the greatest 'Show on Earth'

 

MASPALOMAS INTERNATIONAL CARNIVAL PROGRAM 2026 

 

Perchel Beach Club hosted the press conference for the presentation of the Maspalomas International Carnival Queen Gala. Details of a show that promises to be unforgettable were revealed. The event was opened by the Mayor of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Marco Aurelio Pérez, who highlighted the great anticipation surrounding this event, which will feature 10 candidates tasked with filling the Yumbo Shopping Center stage with color and "good performance." For her part, the Councilor for Tourism, Events, and Festivities, Yilenia Vega, emphasized the organizational effort involved in offering a "packed" schedule of events and thanked sponsors like Perchel, who facilitated social gatherings for the aspiring queens to share experiences beyond the night of the pageant.

 

For his part, the gala's artistic director, Josué Quevedo, explained that the opening will revolve around the "train of illusion," a stage production filled with actors, acrobats, and clowns that pays homage to the world of the circus. This train will arrive on stage for a grand "final performance," including aerial acts and a nod to lion tamers with a message of awareness. Quevedo also assured that it will be a "very dynamic" two-hour gala, with a frenetic pace and musical performances by Miriam Cruz and the Armonía Show orchestra.

 

 

RTVE reinforces its commitment to the internationalization of the municipality

 

The carnival's reach will be historic this year. Francisca González, director of RTVE in the Canary Islands, recalled that the network has been involved since the inception of these festivities and reaffirmed its commitment to the municipality through events such as Gay Pride and Winter Pride. As a major new development, she announced that, in addition to covering the Queen's Gala on the International Channel, this year they have managed to secure a place on the national schedule by broadcasting the Drag Queen Gala on La 2, immediately following the "Nit de la Cremà" (Night of the Burning).

 

Top-notch presenters for a night of excitement

 

The event will be hosted by a top-tier duo. Raquel Sánchez Silva expressed her profound happiness at returning to a land she considers home, along with her native Extremadura. The presenter highlighted Maspalomas's "courage" in showcasing itself to the world with an international event and confessed that the crowning of the queen is a unique moment that always "touches her heart." Alongside her will be Miguel Ángel Guerra, who emphasized his excellent rapport with his co-host and focused on the candidates as the true stars, promising to provide the necessary "punch" to make the gala "the greatest show on earth."
