San Bartolomé de Tirajana opens voting to choose the allegory for the Maspalomas International Carnival 2027

Maspalomas24h Friday, April 10, 2026

The Department of Tourism, Festivities and Events opens the choice of theme to citizen participation until April 26th

Yilenia Vega (CC): “We are launching an open process so that our residents and visitors can be involved from the beginning in one of the most important events in the municipality.”

The San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council, through its Tourism and Festivals and Events departments, is launching the participatory process to choose the theme for the 2027 Maspalomas International Carnival. From today, April 10th, until 23:59 p.m. on Sunday, April 26th, residents, visitors, and tourists can vote for the theme that will be featured in the next edition of this internationally renowned event.

This time, three options are proposed that encompass different creative and scenographic universes: 'Marine Worlds', 'A World of Toys' and 'The Digital Age'.

'Marine Worlds' invites you to immerse yourself in a journey to the bottom of the ocean, an environment full of color, life, and fantasy that connects with the coastal identity of the municipality. A vibrant and visually striking experience.

'A World of Toys' recaptures the essence of childhood, the wonder and boundless capacity for imagination. A universe where iconic characters come to life and transform the streets into a space of fantasy, excitement, and shared creativity.

Meanwhile, 'The Digital Age' presents a carnival inspired by the present, with an aesthetic defined by technology, lights, and screens. This contemporary theme resonates with modern society and offers a unique and innovative experience.

As the Councillor for Tourism, Festivities and Events, Yilenia Vega (CC), points out, “we are launching a participatory process that allows citizens to decide from the outset what they want their carnival to be like. It is a way of involving those who live here and those who choose us as a destination in the construction of one of our main events.”

Along these lines, Vega emphasizes that “the Maspalomas International Carnival is a key tool for tourism promotion, and that is why we are also opening this vote to those who visit us, generating interest from the beginning and positioning the event in the source markets.”

The survey will be available digitally and will allow participants to select one of the three proposed allegories. The system will be active from April 10 at 10:00 AM until April 26 at 23:59 PM.

The allegory that receives the most votes will be chosen to theme the Maspalomas International Carnival 2027, thus taking the first step in the planning and projection of one of the most outstanding celebrations in the municipality.
