Southern Gran Canaria faces a weekend dominated by wind and variable cloud cover. Despite this, gradual improvements are expected with clearer skies during the midday hours and evening.

Southern Gran Canaria will experience moderate to strong winds accompanied by cloudy periods, especially during the morning. The day will begin with more clouds, although conditions will tend to improve as the day progresses, leading to sunny spells in the afternoon.
Temperatures will remain mild, with highs between 22 and 25 degrees and lows between 17 and 19 degrees in the south, typical for this time of year. However, the wind will affect the perceived temperature, potentially making it feel cooler in open or exposed areas.
Saturday, April 11, 2026, will be characterized by a slight rise in minimum temperatures, while northerly winds will bring strong gusts, especially on exposed slopes. This will be the most significant weather feature of the day, directly impacting the weather perception in the south of the island.

For Sunday, April 12, 2026, the pattern will repeat itself with cloudy intervals in the early hours and a tendency towards clearer skies in the afternoon. Temperatures will remain largely unchanged, although they could drop slightly in the mid-altitude areas. The northeast wind will continue to blow strongly, with likely very strong gusts in higher elevations and during the afternoon and evening.
In contrast, the north of Gran Canaria will have overcast skies with a chance of light rain, especially in the early hours of the day, a common situation under the trade wind regime.
Added to this scenario is a pre-alert for coastal phenomena, with a north or northwest swell of between 3 and 4 meters, gradually decreasing to 2-3 meters throughout the day, accompanied by a wave period of 10 to 12 seconds and a low tidal coefficient (0,28-0,32).
High tides will occur at 10:00 and 22:10 on Saturday the 11th, and at 11:05 and 23:09 on Sunday the 12th, which could intensify the impact of the waves in certain sections of the coastline, especially in open areas to the north and west of the island.
