San Bartolomé de Tirajana experienced a night marked by emotion, commitment and the leading role of youth this Saturday with the presentation of the new executive of the Young Nationalists of the Canary Coalition (JNC) and the celebration of the “Youth Who Build” awards
More than 250 young people participated in this event, held in the Chester room of Meloneras, which served as the starting point of a youth political project linked to Coalición Canaria that is born with a clear roadmap: to involve youth in public life, to make local talent visible and to turn the municipality into a youth reference in Gran Canaria.
The event was presided over by the local secretary of the Canary Coalition in San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Alejandro Marichal, who acted as master of ceremonies during a day that combined politics, social recognition and connection between young people.

During his speech, Marichal praised the step taken by the young people involved in this project: “When you decide to get involved, you stop giving your opinion from the outside and start building from within,” he said, also highlighting that “youth is not the future, it is the present that decides and builds the future of this municipality.”

Rodríguez explained that the goal is to create genuine opportunities for young people to participate so they can "get involved, learn how the administration works, and actively participate in public life," while also recognizing the work of those already making an impact in various fields. Furthermore, she emphasized the importance of "building from the local level to position the municipality as a leading example for young people in Gran Canaria."

In this sense, he argued that "the youth of the municipality are not asleep, they are on the move," insisting that this project is born "from the bottom up, to generate community and commitment."
One of the most emotional moments of the night was the presentation of the "Youth Who Build" awards, which recognized 13 young people from the municipality in different categories, linked to sports, culture, health, music, beauty or entrepreneurship.
