A 12-year-old girl was seriously injured after falling in a difficult-to-access area of the municipality of Mogán. The swift and coordinated intervention of the emergency services allowed for her air evacuation to a hospital.
A 12-year-old girl was seriously injured on Sunday afternoon, April 12, 2026, after falling approximately four meters in the Charco de los Azulejos area of Mogán. The incident occurred at 16:07 p.m. and required a large-scale emergency response due to the challenging terrain. The girl suffered a severe head injury and was airlifted by the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) to the University Maternal and Child Hospital of the Canary Islands.
The Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 112 received an alert from a group of paramedics who were traveling through the area. They initially assisted the child, keeping her immobilized until the arrival of emergency services. Due to the difficulty of access by land, a rescue helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) was activated. The helicopter evacuated the child to the Veneguera football field, where she was transferred to a medical helicopter from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) for hospital transport.
