The perpetrators stole specialized equipment valued at more than €12.800, taking advantage of the fact that the owner of the establishment was off the island.
The investigation began after the sale of stolen goods was detected through social media.
The officers managed to recover goods worth 10.500 euros at a property in Vecindario.
The National Police have arrested two men, aged 42 and 45 respectively, both with police records, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, as alleged perpetrators of a robbery with force, committed in a mechanical workshop specializing in karts in the capital.
The events date back to September 2024, when various pieces of equipment specific to the sector, valued at €12.875, were stolen. According to the investigation, the perpetrators gained access to the premises while the owners were away from the island participating in a motorsport event.
Initial investigations revealed that those responsible for the theft acted with a high degree of technical knowledge, as they stole very specific parts, some of them installed in vehicles, using tools specifically designed for their removal.
The investigation took a turn in March 2026, when the complainant learned that some of the stolen items were being offered for sale through a social network.
From that moment on, the agents belonging to the Judicial Police Group began efforts to locate the alleged seller.
As a result of these actions, a meeting was arranged in Vecindario, Santa Lucía de Tirajana, where the agents managed to identify the suspect.
Later, he led the investigators to a property where most of the stolen items were stored.
The operation resulted in the recovery of material valued at approximately 10.500 euros, and two people were arrested as the alleged perpetrators.
The investigation has helped to clarify the robbery and recover a large part of the stolen items, and remains open for the full clarification of the facts, and to confirm if there are more people involved in the events.
