The public company Viviendas Sociales e Infraestructuras de Canarias (Visocan) has formally launched the bidding process for the construction of a new social housing building on plot R2 in Lomo de Maspalomas. This project, with a base budget of €9,47 million, marks the beginning of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council's Strategic Housing Plan, following the collaboration agreement signed between the two entities last January. The project encompasses design, construction management, and execution under a single administrative contract.
The main technical innovation of this development lies in the use of partially industrialized systems, a methodology that transfers part of the construction process to specialized workshops for subsequent on-site assembly. This approach optimizes the quality of the finishes, significantly reduces construction time, and minimizes noise and waste in the Lomo de Maspalomas urban area. The strategy aims to expedite the handover of keys in a municipality with an urgent housing need for workers and resident families.
The tender specifications establish a maximum timeframe of 30 months for the complete construction of the works, including garages and storage units. Construction companies interested in this contract have until May 13, 2026, to submit their technical and financial proposals through the Public Sector Procurement Platform. With this tender, the southern municipality is launching its first major social housing infrastructure project of the decade, prioritizing construction efficiency and transparency in the allocation of public funds.
