The launch of the book "Solo Leon" in southern Gran Canaria marks a cultural milestone for the region, establishing journalist Nadia Jiménez as an authoritative voice in Vatican affairs from an island perspective. The book, which analyzes the rise of Leo XIV after the death of Jorge Bergoglio, takes on special significance in San Bartolomé de Tirajana given the Pope's imminent visit scheduled for next June. In 254 pages, the author masterfully dissects the metamorphosis of Robert Prevost from the Dicastery for Bishops to his election, a process she witnessed firsthand during the Conclave in Rome.

The significance of this fictionalized account transcends the literary realm by intertwining the spiritual figure of the Pope with a highly topical issue on the southern coast: the migrant crisis. Through a style that blends documentary rigor with a poetic approach, Jiménez constructs a discourse on peace that resonates deeply in a municipality marked by its border location and high level of tourism. This perspective brings a humanistic dimension that connects the reality of local communities with the geopolitical challenges led by Leo XIV from the Holy See.

The official book launch, scheduled for April 29th in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, marks the beginning of a series of literary events primarily taking place in the south of the island. With this release, San Bartolomé de Tirajana not only reaffirms its position as an economic engine thanks to its record-low unemployment rates, but also asserts its place as a hub of intellectual production and internationally significant debate. The Pope's visit in June will solidify this prominence, transforming the southern region into a global center where faith, politics, and culture converge in an environment of global coexistence.
