Deloitte Legal Canarias brought together the leading Human Resources managers from the Canary Islands for two strategic meetings held at the Hotel Santa Catalina in Gran Canaria and the Club Oliver in Tenerife. The sessions, organized in collaboration with APD Canarias, were held under the title "AI, Talent, and Absenteeism," establishing themselves as an exclusive forum for analysis for executives of the islands' largest organizations.

The phenomenon of absenteeism was a central topic of discussion. Sergio García Ruiz, head of the Labor Law practice at Deloitte Legal Canarias, outlined the policies needed to address this structural problem that repeatedly affects all sectors of the island's economy. During his presentation, García Ruiz emphasized the critical importance of prevention and monitoring, offering management strategies that have proven effective in reducing absenteeism rates throughout his professional career.

The emergence of artificial intelligence and its impact on workforces was the second major theme of the luncheons. Rocío Abella Ligués, partner in charge of Human Capital at Deloitte, outlined the challenges that AI poses for human capital. The expert analyzed how Human Resources departments must lead the implementation of these technologies, facilitating the change to permeate all levels of the organization to ensure an efficient and people-centered transition.

The management team of Deloitte Canarias, represented by Ignacio de la Vega, along with professionals María Sáenz Belda, Aarón Mejias Purriños, and José Manuel López Ruiz, highlighted the excellent reception of this first edition. The firm's objective is to establish these luncheons as a regular meeting point where HR professionals can identify and address common challenges, strengthening the exchange of experiences among leading companies in the Canary Islands.
