Agents of the National Police from the Local Police Station of Maspalomas, have arrested a young man as the alleged perpetrator of a robbery with violence that occurred this past morning of April 29 at a bus stop located next to the Parque Tropical Shopping Centre.
The officers became aware of the events through the CIMACC 091 Operations Room, after receiving a report of a robbery with violence in a public place.
A police unit went to the location, and upon arrival they were requested by the victim, a young woman, who was in a state of anxiety, and according to her testimony, while waiting for public transport an individual approached her on a skateboard and began to interact insistently.
At one point, the aggressor tried to snatch the mobile phone that the victim was holding, starting a struggle in which she suffered injuries to both hands.
The intervention of several witnesses who came to her aid prevented the perpetrator from completing the robbery. Immediately afterward, the alleged assailant took advantage of the arrival of a bus to flee the scene.
Thanks to the description provided by the victim and witnesses, as well as the rapid police coordination, the vehicle was located shortly afterwards in another nearby town.
The officers proceeded to temporarily immobilize it, identifying inside a young man who fully matched the characteristics provided, who after being identified, admitted to having had a previous altercation, so he was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of the events.
The victim was treated at a health center for the injuries sustained and was later taken to police headquarters to file the corresponding complaint.
Once the police investigation is complete, the arrested person will be handed over to the competent judicial authority.
