The general improvement works of the sports facility, with an investment of half a million euros, will be inaugurated with a football match between the veterans of UD Las Palmas and the veterans of Cercados de Espino.
The San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council will inaugurate this Sunday, May 10, at 12:00 noon, the complete renovation of the 'Maestro Antonio' Sports Complex in Cercados de Espino, in an event that will be attended by the mayor Marco Aurelio Pérez Sánchez, the Minister of Education and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands, Hipólito Suárez Nuez, and the Councilor for Sports, Ramón Suárez.
The day will have a distinctly festive and sporting character, bringing together neighbors, fans and families around a very special football match between the Cercados de Espino Veterans Selection and the UD Las Palmas Former Players Association, in a morning full of memories, camaraderie and passion for the sport.
The renovation of the Cercados de Espino Sports Complex, financed by the Ministry of Education and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands, has meant a significant improvement to the sports facilities of the neighborhood, with an investment of nearly 500.000 euros, intended to modernize and adapt the premises to offer a safer, more accessible and functional space for users.
Key improvements include the complete renovation of the artificial turf on the football pitch, replacement of the irrigation system, installation of new sports equipment, and enhancements to the complex's surroundings. Work has also been carried out on the changing rooms and adjacent facilities, including plumbing, electrical, waterproofing, carpentry, painting, and accessibility improvements.
The project has also included the renovation of the adjacent multi-sports court, the improvement of the perimeter fencing and the construction of a new access ramp, thus reinforcing the municipal commitment to modern sports facilities adapted to the needs of the residents and athletes of the municipality.
The San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council invites all citizens to participate in this special day that symbolizes the commitment to sport, community life and the improvement of municipal sports infrastructure.
