A 32-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured this Sunday after falling on the GC-60 highway near Fataga, in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana. He was airlifted by helicopter from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) to the University Hospital of Gran Canaria.

The accident occurred at about 1:00 p.m., when the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 1-13-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert informing that a motorcyclist required medical assistance after suffering a fall in the middle of the road.

The 112 emergency service immediately activated a large emergency response team consisting of a medical helicopter, a medical ambulance and a basic life support ambulance from the SUC (Canary Islands Emergency Service), as well as personnel from the San Bartolomé de Tirajana Fire and Rescue Service and agents of the Civil Guard.

Emergency medical personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) attended to the injured person at the scene of the accident, where they were stabilized before being airlifted in serious condition by medical helicopter to the helipad of the University Hospital of Gran Canaria. Firefighters secured the aircraft's landing and takeoff maneuvers on the road itself, while the Civil Guard directed traffic and prepared the corresponding accident report.
