Telde will become one of the great epicenters of Canarian grassroots football this coming May 30th, Canary Islands Day, with the celebration of the Canaluz Cup, a sporting event that will bring together hundreds of young footballers and families throughout the day at the El Hornillo sports facilities.

The tournament, which is exclusively sponsored by Canaluz, the leading electricity supplier in the Canary Islands for all of Spain, is organized by UD Telde in collaboration with the Telde City Council and the Las Palmas Inter-Island Football Federation, and continues to grow, establishing itself as one of the leading competitions in youth sports in the Canary Islands.

In this edition, the Canaluz Cup will also feature representation from several islands of the archipelago, with the participation of teams from Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, thus reinforcing the inter-island character and the appeal of the event.

One of the tournament's biggest attractions will be the opportunity for the participating players, all in the Benjamin category, to play their matches with the official ball of the upcoming 2026 World Cup, the Adidas Trionda, a very special experience that will make the competition an unforgettable memory for many boys and girls.

The event will bring together prominent clubs from the regional scene in an atmosphere marked by camaraderie, fellowship and the values of grassroots sport, with hundreds of attendees expected throughout Canary Islands Day.

The organizers especially highlight the enormous effort made by UD Telde to coordinate an event of this magnitude, as well as the involvement of institutions, clubs, families and volunteers to make possible an event that transcends the purely sporting aspect.

“The Canaluz Cup perfectly represents the values we want to promote as a Canarian company: youth development, effort, enthusiasm and unity between islands, through the energy of sport,” Canaluz representatives stated.
