The Port of Pasito Blanco will host an event open to the public next Friday, June 5th, at 18:00 PM, to discover firsthand how a Canarian eco-port works.
The program includes guided tours, demonstrations and the performance of "Salt Stories", a stage proposal designed to share values such as sustainability, memory and respect for the sea with the family.
Puertos Canarios will celebrate this Friday, June 5, in the Port of Pasito Blanco, in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, a new Open Ports Day, an initiative designed to bring the regional port infrastructures closer to residents, visitors and families, from a close, informative and participatory perspective.
The activity will take place under the slogan "Get to know your Canary ecoport" and will allow visitors to tour the facilities through guided visits, learn about technologies, equipment and innovative practices related to environmental care and also enjoy the play "Salt Stories", a small format show aimed at all audiences.
The managing director of Puertos Canarios, José Gilberto Moreno, has emphasized that this proposal responds to the purpose of opening the ports to the public and sharing, in a simple and friendly way, all the work that is done in favor of sustainability, safety and continuous improvement of these spaces. “We want those who come to Pasito Blanco to feel that the port is a close, lively and useful place, a space that also belongs to them and where work is done every day thinking about the general interest,” he pointed.
Moreno also highlighted that Pasito Blanco is an ideal location to continue showcasing the Ecopuertos Canarios project and the evolution of port infrastructure towards models that are more responsible towards the marine environment and more connected with their social surroundings. “These workshops allow us to explain, with real examples and activities for all audiences, how we are moving towards more sustainable, more open ports that are more committed to the community,” said.
The event is organized in collaboration with the Pasito Blanco Marina and the San Bartolomé de Tirajana Town Hall.
With this event in Pasito Blanco, Puertos Canarios continues to strengthen a line of work that combines outreach, culture and environmental awareness, inviting citizens to see the port in a different way: as a space for meeting, learning and a shared future.
Puertos Canarios is a public business entity attached to the Ministry of Public Works, Housing and Mobility of the Government of the Canary Islands; which operates under the name ECOPUERTOS AUTONÓMICOS DE CANARIAS.
