The San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council has channeled the bulk of the funds from this extraordinary grant to its sporting events with the greatest international reach. The largest single allocation has been designated for Rodagon Sport, which will receive €70,000 for the organization of the 12th edition of the Maspalomas Cup, sponsored by the Government of the Canary Islands, in 2026. Meanwhile, Top Time Eventos will receive €40.000 for the development of the 15th edition of the Maspalomas Open Water in 2026. Motorsports and competitive cycling constitute another of the priority economic areas in the approved budget amendment. The Maspalomas Racing Team will receive two separate grants totaling €40.000, broken down into €25.000 for the 53rd edition of the Maspalomas Rally in 2026 and €15.000 for the emblematic Fataga Hill Climb Rally in 2026. In the realm of cycling, the Procycle Sports Club will receive a designated grant of €25,000 to organize the 10th edition of the Epic Gran Canaria in 2026, while the Veredas Atauro Club will have access to €6.000 in institutional funding for the management of the 4th Ceisa Bike Traiña event.
The promotion of grassroots sports, women's sports, and inclusive disciplines receives a direct financial boost in this municipal decree. The Castillo Basketball Club has been awarded €20.000 for the 3rd Gran Canaria 2026 U14 International Women's Basketball Tournament. The same amount of €20,000 will fund the inclusive swimming program developed by the Canary Islands Association for Children with Special Needs, "SUMAS." The council has also included funding for new training and endurance programs, allocating €5.000 to Wolf FIT Club for the 2nd Maspalomas Hybrid Race 2026, and another €5,000 to JBC Eventos SCP for the launch of the 6th Costa Canaria Cup.
Traditional community organizations, sociocultural groups, and rural entities complete the list of recipients of the extraordinary earmarked grants. The Acebuches Trail Sociocultural and Sports Association will receive a grant of €10.000 to carry out the II Element Games-La Híbrida del Pueblo 2026 project. Likewise, La Heredad de Fataga is directly included in the general grant program with an allocated public contribution of €10.000,00.
