A 37-year-old man was seriously injured and a 32-year-old woman suffered moderate injuries in an accident that occurred early Saturday morning on the GC-500, in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana.
The accident occurred at approximately 03:51 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2026, when the Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 received an alert reporting that a vehicle had crashed into a hillside on the aforementioned road. 1-1-2 immediately activated the necessary emergency resources to respond to the scene.
Upon arrival, the San Bartolomé de Tirajana Fire Department confirmed that the two occupants were trapped inside the wrecked vehicle and proceeded with their rescue. The Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) and primary care personnel assisted the injured at the scene.
The most seriously injured person, a 37-year-old man with severe multiple injuries, was transported by ambulance to the Doctor Negrín University Hospital of Gran Canaria. The 32-year-old woman, who sustained moderate multiple contusions, was taken by ambulance to the Insular University Hospital of Gran Canaria. Officers from the Civil Guard carried out the corresponding procedures, while Civil Protection assisted with the security and coordination operation.
