Castillo del Romeral launches Castillo Vivo, a day with music, sports and coastal conservation

 

La Department of Beaches of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council organizes the next 19 20 and June la first edition of Living Castle, an initiative that was created with the aim of promoting the environmental awareness, the citizen participation and coexistence through sports, cultural and musical activities in the coastal environment of Romeral CastleThe meeting will take place on the esplanade located in front of the Fishermen Its starting point is a coastal cleanup and restoration project. Its philosophy stems from the need to raise awareness about coastal protection and encourage active citizen involvement in the care of public spaces, combining this work with initiatives that strengthen community identity and neighborly relations.

 

 

Councilwoman Beaches, Yilenia VegaHe explained that “Castillo Vivo was born with a very clear idea: to care for our coastline together. We want citizens to actively participate in the conservation of our beaches and, at the same time, find in this event a space to share, connect, and enjoy culture and sport in a unique setting like Castillo del Romeral. Environmental protection is more effective when it is accompanied by the involvement of residents, groups, and associations. This project embodies precisely these values ​​and allows us to continue fostering respect for our coastline from a participatory and community-oriented perspective.”.

 

For his part, the first deputy mayor, Alejandro MarichalHe noted that “Castillo Vivo represents a way of understanding public management based on citizen participation and the enhancement of our coastal neighborhoods. It's not just about organizing activities, but about raising awareness, strengthening the social fabric, and promoting initiatives that have continuity over time. This event transforms Castillo del Romeral into a meeting point for residents, families, and visitors, demonstrating that commitment to the environment, sports, and culture can go hand in hand to build a more cohesive community.”.

 

The program will begin on Friday. June 19 at 16:00 a.m. with a large participatory clean-up of the coastline, an activity open to all citizens aimed at the selective collection of waste and the cleaning of the beach and coastal areas.

 

Starting at 20:30h The musical performances will begin with the participation of Kahuna, Tamaduba, Brian Perdomo, Unknown y The Coquillos, on a night dedicated to music made in the Canary Islands.

 

The second day, Saturday, June 20, will begin at 09:00 with a 3x3 basketball tournament and a 3x3 football tournament, two activities aimed at promoting healthy habits, coexistence and the participation of young people and families.

 

During the morning, there will also be a demonstration of Canarian wrestling, an educational event designed to introduce residents and visitors to one of the main symbols of the Canary Islands' sporting and cultural heritage. The activity will include practical demonstrations, explanations of the history and values ​​of this traditional sport, and interaction with the audience.

 

The musical program will return from 20:30 p.m. with performances by Skachaos, Skaldaos, Danty Band, The Guagua Band y Enkassette, putting the finishing touch on two days designed to combine environmental protection, sports activity, popular culture and civic coexistence.
