Southern Gran Canaria is rapidly establishing itself as a leading logistics hub for high-level audiovisual and advertising production in the Atlantic. The global music video industry has found in the Maspalomas dunes a prime location for developing projects that demand the highest technical standards of contemporary filmmaking. The filming of the international hit "El Tonto," a musical collaboration between artists Lola Índigo and Gran Canaria native Quevedo, has demonstrated the islands' operational capacity to handle complex shoots that combine stunning locations with state-of-the-art technical equipment.

The music video production opted for a distinctly cinematic visual style, selecting locations with high aesthetic impact in the Maspalomas dunes, in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, combining the desert landscape of southern Gran Canaria with the unique scenery of the "Valley of the Lepers" in Abades, on the island of Tenerife. To meet the aesthetic standards demanded by global distribution platforms, the cinematography team chose an ultra-premium camera setup, using the ARRI Alexa Mini LF body. This large-format system is commonly used in major Hollywood studio productions due to its performance in extreme lighting conditions and its color fidelity.

The provision of optical and technological equipment was handled by Equipos Profesionales Cinematográficos (EPC), a leading rental company in the national audiovisual sector with an active presence in the Canary Islands market. The camera equipment supplied included a complete set of ARRI Signature Prime fixed lenses with focal lengths ranging from wide-angle 18, 21, 25, and 35mm lenses, through standard 40 and 58mm lenses, to telephoto 95 and 150mm lenses. This technical range allowed the crew to capture the vastness of the Maspalomas dune landscape and imbue the musical narrative with an organic, high-definition visual texture.

The use of the Maspalomas dunes as a film set for artists who have amassed hundreds of millions of digital views serves as an invaluable indirect promotional campaign for the Maspalomas Costa Canaria brand. Audiovisual industry analysts highlight that the combination of the Canary Islands' economic incentives with the presence of rental companies like EPC and the diverse local microclimates makes southern Gran Canaria a direct competitor to traditional studios in southern Europe. The filming of top-tier projects simultaneously attracts highly qualified local technicians, consolidating an auxiliary economic network that diversifies the region's productive activity beyond the hotel sector.
