El San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council has taken a key step for the future of Annex II Shopping Center, located at English beach, by accepting the conditions imposed by the General Directorate of the Coast and the SeaThis decision will allow the administrative concession on several municipal plots included in the public maritime-terrestrial domain, following the demarcation approved in 1995.

 

The acceptance of these conditions will be ratified shortly by the full City Council, constituting a fundamental step forward for the legal regularization of the affected areas. The procedure, initiated in October 2020 by the Department of Urban Planning under the direction of Alejandro MarichalIts main objective is to provide legal certainty to the commercial and tourist spaces of Annex II, thus facilitating future improvement and modernization actions.

In this way, the permanence of the terraces within the authorized surfaces is guaranteed and the possibility of carrying out conservation, repair and modernization works, always respecting the legal limits established for surface, volume or height.

 

Furthermore, the law establishes the obligation to correct any encroachments that exceed the permitted spaces. These include terraces that surpass the authorized width along the dune promenade, unauthorized encroachments on transverse walkways and the central plaza, as well as displays or extensions of premises that encroach on areas designated for pedestrian traffic. This delimitation reinforces the protection of the public domain, improves accessibility and provides greater legal certainty to both the City Council and the establishments located in Annex II.
