The island was a meeting point for international influencers, who were able to discover some of its most emblematic wellness spaces.
The second Saturday of June once again became a key date for those interested in well-being with the celebration of Global Wellness Day . This international initiative, present in more than 100 countries, commemorated its 15th anniversary this year under the global theme #JoyMagenta, an invitation to celebrate joy and vital energy as pillars of self-care.
The Gran Canaria Spa, Wellness & Health association , together with Gran Canaria Natural & Active , has once again joined this global initiative with the aim of continuing to promote a healthy lifestyle and demonstrate why Gran Canaria has established itself as a leader in health and wellness tourism. To this end, a personalized program has been designed that combines haute cuisine, cutting-edge treatments, diverse settings, and accommodations designed for rest and personal care.
To experience and share this adventure, the association invited an exclusive group of influencers from Germany, Sweden, and the UK. Among them were Nadja Probst (@travelprincess.de), Linda Åkerberg (@wildernessstories), Martin Bengtsson of 204 Experience, Bethanie Kendra (@bethanie.kendra), and a representative from The Spa PR Company.
The chosen retreat to kick off this journey was Salobre Hotel Resort & Serenity , a luxurious oasis boasting a stunning volcanic landscape and an atmosphere that invites you to disconnect. Guests had free time to settle into their rooms, relax, and recharge before embarking on activities inspired by the message of Global Wellness Day 2026.
The second day was all about complete relaxation. They began the day with a visit to the Inagua Spa & Wellness, where they found a moment of tranquility. This center is located in the Hotel Cordial Mogán Playa and is characterized by its tropical gardens and its location just steps from the sea.
Next, they headed to the Cordial Santa Águeda & Perchel Beach Club Resort to enjoy an exclusive beachfront experience, combining spectacular views with a culinary offering at the La Arrocería restaurant. They also had the opportunity to visit one of the resort's holiday homes with a private pool.
The third day began with a sunrise meditation class on Maspalomas beach, with the Maspalomas Dunes as a backdrop. The session was led by Yaiza Guimaré, creator of the SLOWMOOVE project , which offers an opportunity for mental and physical transformation through retreats closely aligned with Global Wellness Day.
In this context, the morning featured the participation of Björn Dunkerbeck, 42-time windsurfing champion and founder of BD Surf School , to talk about the strong connection between wellness, sport and the ocean.
To recharge, they headed to Seaside Palm Beach for breakfast. This hotel combines the tranquility of coastal living with a high-end experience and an outstanding culinary offering. There, they enjoyed the Spa & Wellness center and premium massages, as well as strolling through its inviting palm grove.
Mid-morning, they traveled to the Gloria Palace San Agustín Thalasso & Hotel to immerse themselves in the thalassotherapy circuit and learn about the benefits of seawater. After revitalizing themselves, they enjoyed a rooftop brunch with panoramic views from the newly renovated Gorbea Terrace.
To conclude the day, they visited Finca Las Orillas , part of Sana Dharma. This tranquil enclave in southern Gran Canaria allows visitors to reconnect with themselves and nature through holistic therapies such as cacao ceremonies and Aquahealing.
After several days of activities, it was time to relax and dedicate some time to oneself within the comprehensive facilities of Salobre Hotel Resort & Serenity. Highlights include spaces like the Be Aloe Wellness spa, ideal for restoring inner harmony, its gym for staying in shape even while on vacation, or simply enjoying the sunset while lying on a Balinese bed.
This trip reveals that Gran Canaria, in addition to being a sun and beach destination, also offers an environment conducive to disconnecting and finding tranquility. Its diverse landscapes and the Atlantic Ocean provide travelers with a true sense of renewal and a more relaxed lifestyle that naturally aligns with the philosophy of Global Wellness Day.
