Lopesan unifies its MICE structure and transfers the Meloneras walking distance model to the Caribbean

Zoilo Alemán's work at Lopesan Hotel Group carries weight. The hotel company has reconfigured its business strategy for the meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) segment. The chain's new head of MICE, Abraham Martínez, has confirmed the unification of all corporate services under a single organizational umbrella. The rollout of this comprehensive structure coincides with a phase of international expansion that will take the Canary Islands-based hotel brand to the heart of Madrid and the beaches of the Dominican Republic, breaking its traditional dependence on the pure holiday market by attracting major international events.

The centerpiece of the new operational structure is the Lopesan Groups Office division, a sales office specializing in high-performance event management. This unified structure acts as a single point of contact for corporate clients, simplifying contracting processes across all company locations. The division's technical support relies on the Thynk.cloud technology platform, a cloud-based management system designed to streamline administrative processes and optimize sales response times for travel agency and incentive planners.

The tourism group's expansion reaches a milestone in its asset portfolio with the addition of the Hotel Miguel Ángel in Madrid, a transaction designed to introduce the company's luxury standards to the MICE sector in the Spanish capital. Simultaneously, the hotel chain is accelerating its construction projects in Playa Bávaro, Dominican Republic, where it will add three new accommodations. This Caribbean footprint will be completed in early 2027 with the inauguration of the Lopesan Convention Center, a modular convention center equipped with a plenary hall for 1.900 attendees and a maximum total capacity to accommodate 4.850 people simultaneously.

The development in the Punta Cana area mathematically replicates the urban and logistical model successfully implemented in southern Gran Canaria. The company leverages the "walking distance" business concept in Meloneras, taking advantage of the physical proximity between its five-star hotel complexes and the Expomeloneras convention center. This infrastructure concentration eliminates the need for internal motorized transport for delegates, reducing logistical costs for organizing companies and lowering the carbon footprint of conventions.

New consumer trends in the corporate sector show a direct convergence between large-scale, hybrid-format conferences and smaller, more exclusive incentive trips. Multinational corporations now demand verifiable sustainability metrics to meet their corporate social responsibility objectives, a factor that positions the geopolitical stability of the Canary Islands and the Dominican Republic as safe havens against the volatility of other competing destinations. The hotel group's revenue forecasts for the coming fiscal years maintain an upward trend, supported by the loyalty of major accounts seeking to optimize their return on investment for each professional event.
