The accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon at kilometer 20 of the GC-65 highway. The injured person was stabilized by the Canary Islands Emergency Service before being transferred in serious condition to the University Hospital of Gran Canaria.
A 28-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured last Wednesday , July 15 , after falling on the GC-65 highway , at kilometer marker 20 , in the municipality of Santa Lucía de Tirajana . Due to the severity of his injuries, he was airlifted by the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) to the University Hospital of Gran Canaria.
The Canary Islands Government 's Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 received an alert at 16:14 p.m. , reporting a motorcyclist accident on the aforementioned road. The necessary emergency resources were immediately activated, with a medical helicopter from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), a basic life support ambulance, personnel from the Gran Canaria Emergency Consortium , the Civil Guard , and the Local Police dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, the injured person presented with severe multiple injuries. After being assessed and stabilized by the SUC (Canary Islands Emergency Service) personnel, he was transferred to the medical helicopter, whose medical crew continued to provide assistance during the transfer to the University Hospital of Gran Canaria.
Firefighters secured the area to facilitate the helicopter's landing and takeoff maneuvers, while the Civil Guard and the Local Police collaborated with the emergency response and took charge of the investigation to clarify the circumstances of the accident.
