SPAR Gran Canaria renews for the sixth consecutive year its commitment to the Mi Hijo y Yo Association to facilitate that families with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and pervasive developmental disorder (PDD) receive the necessary support for their well-being, including the promotion of healthy eating habits from childhood.
In this sense, the agreement aims to promote different actions linked to the promotion of integral well-being , including the ' Inspiring Kitchen ' workshop.
The president of SPAR Gran Canaria, Ángel Medina , emphasizes that “we remain committed to this group, recognizing the important work carried out by the Mi Hijo y Yo Association and participating in initiatives that promote personal development, autonomy, and inclusion for people with ASD and PDD. We believe in a society that progresses through empathy and opportunity, where each person can develop their full potential and participate fully in their community.”
The agreement allows for the funding of annual costs for support and psychological care services for vulnerable families with children with ASD or PDD. An example of this is the recent opening of the association's new center, a space that allows for expanded support for children with these types of disorders and offers them a more comprehensive learning environment.
González and Víctor Santana , the president and the social officer and secretary of the association, respectively, expressed their gratitude for the support of the distribution chain. “This collaboration agreement guarantees the continuity of our organization, as well as the implementation of new initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life of our users,” they stated.
The My Child and I Association promotes the personal, family and social development of children with ASD and PDD, facilitating support and assistance to this group in different areas and during all life stages.
Furthermore, it has an international dimension, so its various projects are carried out in the Canary Islands , but also in Europe , Latin America and Africa.
SPAR Gran Canaria, together with the Mi Hijo y Yo Association, reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the bond with children and their families in a space of creativity, learning and active participation, while also promoting healthy eating habits among the island's youth.
