Vocational training centers in southern Gran Canaria have begun this week to receive instructions and the official schedule for the partial renewal and new constitution of the Social Councils in the Integrated Vocational Training Centers (CIFP) for the 2026/2027 academic year.

The electoral process, which will take place entirely during the start of the 2026/2027 academic year, requires the management teams of schools in the south to establish Electoral Boards through a public lottery, guaranteeing maximum transparency in the preparation of electoral rolls, the proclamation of open candidacies, and the management of in-person and postal voting. The regulations stipulate that newly established schools will carry out a complete formation of their boards, while those with a consolidated track record will proceed with the partial renewal of their regular and alternate members. Furthermore, mandatory biennial renewal for the student body is introduced to ensure a dynamic turnover adapted to the academic reality.
