The San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council is launching this evening fashion show aimed at promoting and showcasing the talent and creativity of designers linked to the municipality.
San Agustín Beach will host the SBT Fashion Show this Sunday, August 9th, starting at 6:30 p.m. This initiative, launched by the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council through the Department of Culture, aims to promote and showcase the talent of designers, creators, and entrepreneurs linked to the municipality, transforming fashion into a tool for cultural, tourism, and economic promotion.
According to Elena Álamo Vega, the event aims to establish itself as a key event on the municipality's cultural calendar, integrating fashion, music, entertainment, and social experience in a premium outdoor format, taking advantage of one of the most emblematic locations on the San Bartolomé de Tirajana coastline.
“The goal is to turn this catwalk into a showcase for creativity, innovation and design, and to make it an initiative that will boost the local creative sector, highlight the work of its professionals and reinforce the image of San Bartolomé de Tirajana as a municipality committed to talent, culture and entrepreneurship,” says Mayor Marco Aurelio Pérez.
To that end, the SBT Fashion Show was born in the natural setting of San Agustín Beach with a clear commitment to local talent, offering designers from the municipality an exceptional platform to showcase their new collections to residents, visitors, industry professionals, and the media. Alongside them, the show will also feature guest designers, enriching an event that seeks to generate synergies and position San Bartolomé de Tirajana as an emerging leader in the Canary Islands fashion scene.
In this first edition, the creators Raysadot Couture, Nazareth Reyes, Sandra Jaurrieta, Davinia Rosem, Lau Coutinho, Matta Mikas and Kamila Bellmont will participate.
The event, hosted by journalist Gema Fernández, will feature live musical performances by Celia Jiménez and Cristian Santana , two highly talented young artists who will bring dynamism and excitement to the different segments of the parade. In addition, the evening will include a special appearance by Mel Ömana, one of the most prominent and promising voices in Canarian music. This singer, songwriter, and producer was recognized with awards for Best Album of 2021, Best Project of 2022, and Best Artist of 2024 by Los 40 Principales Canarias.
The Department of Culture is promoting this initiative with the aim of ensuring that fashion transcends the commercial sphere and becomes an artistic and cultural expression capable of generating identity, boosting the creative economy, and projecting the image of the municipality. “With SBT es moda (SBT is Fashion), San Bartolomé de Tirajana reaffirms its commitment to creating spaces where local talent can grow, showcase itself, and connect with new audiences, supporting innovative proposals that combine culture, creativity, and tourism promotion in settings of great scenic value, such as San Agustín Beach in this case,” states Elena Álamo.
