Car rollover accident on the GC-501 towards Castillo del Romeral: a 73-year-old man and a 9-year-old child, moderately injured

A 73-year-old man and a 9-year-old child suffered moderate injuries this Sunday, August 23, after a vehicle overturned on the GC-501 road, heading towards Castillo del Romeral, within the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana.

 

The Canary Islands Government 's Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 112 received the alert at 14:01 p.m. and activated the San Bartolomé de Tirajana Fire and Rescue Service , the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) , the Civil Guard , and the Local Police . Municipal firefighters freed one of the occupants who remained inside the vehicle and secured the accident scene.

 

Emergency medical personnel attended to a 73-year-old man with several moderate injuries. After being stabilized, he was transferred by ambulance to the University Hospital of Gran Canaria . A 9-year-old child suffered several contusions, also of moderate severity, and was taken by basic life support ambulance to the University Maternal and Child Hospital of the Canary Islands.

 

Civil Guard and local police officers assisted emergency services during the operation. The Civil Guard took charge of preparing the corresponding report to clarify the circumstances of the rollover.
