Canaluz goes beyond sponsorship and equips the crew of Viajes Insular Arenales Canaluz for their regattas

The leading electricity company in the Canary Islands, serving all of Spain, provides its approximately 30 crew members with supplementary sports equipment designed to support, care for, and enhance their experience during the competition.

Canaluz reinforces its commitment to the Viajes Insular Arenales Canaluz team with a new initiative that goes far beyond sports sponsorship. This past Saturday, the Canary Islands energy company delivered supplementary sports equipment to the nearly 30 members of the crew, aiming to support them in their daily competition and contribute, from a practical perspective, to their comfort and well-being during the regattas.

This action represents a further step in the relationship between Canaluz and Unión Arenales , demonstrating that sponsorship is not only understood as a brand presence on the boat, but as a real commitment to the people behind each regatta.

Each crew member has received equipment consisting of a red multipurpose backpack, explorer model, in the club's official color, personalized with the slogan "Canaluz, the Canary energy of our sailing"; a reusable 250ml blue bottle made of recycled plastic, also with the same Canaluz slogan; and a state-of-the-art fiber sports towel, especially suitable for sports practice and the hot conditions typical of competition.

This latest version incorporates a property that is especially useful for sailors: once wet and wrung out, it becomes a refreshing towel capable of reaching a temperature significantly lower than the ambient temperature, providing a feeling of relief and coolness after moments of physical exertion or during the hottest days.

Much more than putting a name on a candle

With this initiative, Canaluz wants to convey a clear idea: a sports sponsorship has value when it is built from close proximity and when it also benefits those who make the sporting spectacle possible.

The company, which also maintains an exclusive energy offer for the nautical sector, continues to deepen its connection with the Canary Islands Latin Sail and, especially, with the Unión Arenales project.

“For Canaluz, sponsorship doesn’t simply mean putting our name on a boat. It means being there for, supporting, and taking care of the people who represent that project,” the company explained in a statement. “We want our collaboration to have real benefits for the crew and for each member to feel that Canaluz is by their side even when it’s time to compete.”

The choice of each element responds precisely to that philosophy: useful material, designed for the sporting activity and adapted to the real needs of a crew that faces training and regattas in especially demanding conditions.

The backpack will allow you to comfortably carry your personal equipment; the water bottle will facilitate hydration during the activity and can be reused on a daily basis; and the cooling towel will provide an additional resource to combat the heat and promote recovery after exertion.

An alliance that continues to grow

The Federation's president, Manuel Farías, stated that “at the Canary Islands Latin Sailing Federation, we want to highlight these kinds of initiatives because they demonstrate that a company's commitment to our sport can go far beyond financial contributions or brand presence. Canaluz's concern for the people who make up a crew—their comfort, hydration, and well-being during regattas—is a sign of sensitivity and genuine commitment to our sailing. Actions like this help strengthen our sport and, above all, underscore the importance of having companies that not only sponsor but also get involved and support our teams.”

For his part, the president of Unión Arenales, Iban Miranda, praised the initiative very positively: “For us, Canaluz's gesture towards each member of our crew means a great deal. It's not just the equipment we receive, but the message behind it: that we have a company that cares about us, supports us, and wants us to be well. This makes the relationship between Canaluz and Unión Arenales much more than a sponsorship; it's a true partnership.”

The delivery of this material adds to the sponsorship that Canaluz maintains with Viajes Insular Arenales Canaluz and its firm commitment to Canarian Latin Sailing, a sport deeply linked to the identity, tradition and sporting culture of the Islands.

This relationship also extends to the entire nautical sector of the Canary Islands, through Canaluz's exclusive offer, its nautical electricity tariff for professionals and enthusiasts linked to this field.

In this way, Canaluz continues to consolidate a way of understanding sponsorship based on involvement, closeness and value generation, making its presence in Canary Island sport more than just a matter of visibility.

Because behind every ship there is a crew.

And behind every crew, there are people.

Canaluz wants to be with them.

Canaluz, the Canarian energy of our sail.
