The coordinated investigation between the Vecindario and Agüimes Investigation Units made it possible to solve two robberies with violence and intimidation committed with bladed weapons.
The detainee, considered highly dangerous due to his repeated use of weapons to intimidate his victims, has been remanded in custody.
The Civil Guard has arrested a person as the alleged perpetrator of two crimes of robbery with violence and intimidation committed in establishments open to the public in the municipalities of Santa Lucía de Tirajana and Agüimes.
The investigation began after a robbery at a supermarket in Vecindario, when an individual entered the establishment carrying a large knife and demanded that employees hand over the takings.
During the robbery, a struggle ensued with one of the employees, who managed to snatch the garment the perpetrator was using to conceal his face. This incident yielded crucial information that led to the suspect's subsequent identification. The perpetrator ultimately made off with a sum of cash and hurriedly left the establishment.
Later, a second robbery with violence and intimidation occurred at another establishment in the municipality of Agüimes. On this occasion, the perpetrator burst into the premises carrying two large knives and, through threats and direct intimidation of the employees, managed to steal money from the cash register before fleeing the scene.
Given the similarity between the two events, the Investigation Areas of Vecindario and Agüimes established a joint line of investigation, focused on the analysis of the modus operandi, the weapons used, the physical characteristics provided by witnesses and the images obtained from the video surveillance systems.

The investigations carried out by the researchers made it possible to determine that both robberies had allegedly been committed by the same person, obtaining the necessary clues to advance in his identification and location.
As a result of the operation, Civil Guard officers arrested the suspect in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The detainee was subsequently transferred to the Civil Guard station in Vecindario, where the police investigation continued.
Once the proceedings were completed, the detainee was brought before the competent judicial authority. The court ordered his provisional imprisonment, taking into account the seriousness of the investigated acts and the evidence obtained during the investigation.
The proceedings initiated by the Civil Guard were sent to the competent judicial bodies of San Bartolomé de Tirajana and Telde, and the actions continued under the direction of the judicial authority.
