Fund Grube reorganizes its management team: Ramón Marquina assumes the general management based in Maspalomas

The retail sector in the Canary Islands is undergoing a major strategic shift in its corporate structure. The Canarian chain Fund Grube has announced the appointment of Ramón Marquina de Padura as the company's new CEO, a move aimed at securing its growth and addressing the upcoming challenges of the retail market specializing in beauty, fashion, and accessories. Marquina de Padura, who joined the organization in 2021, has nearly five years of experience in management positions across the company's core business areas of operations and logistics.

Marquina's appointment to the top management team is based on solid prior experience in the European retail sector. Before joining Fund Grube, the new CEO served as Commercial Director at E.Leclerc and held the position of Operations Director at Auchan Retail in Portugal, accumulating the operational experience necessary to manage the business volume of a well-established company. The company emphasizes that his deep understanding of the sector, his strategic vision, and his results-oriented approach will be fundamental to guiding this new corporate phase.

Today, Fund Grube stands as one of the most important economic players in the archipelago's selective retail sector. The company employs 1.000 professionals, boasts over forty years of experience in the island market, and operates a network of nearly 70 stores across the islands. Its business model encompasses the specialized sale of fragrances, cosmetics, makeup, watches, sunglasses, jewelry, costume jewelry, leather goods, footwear, fashion, and tobacco, targeting a significant portion of its offerings to tourists in strategic locations such as southern Gran Canaria.

This change in CEO comes at a time of expansion and strategic alliances for the group. It's worth recalling that last February, Fund Grube forged a significant alliance with Grupo Perfumería Júlia, a leading specialist in the selective perfumery sector, operating in Spain and Andorra through its own network of stores. With this corporate move and Marquina's leadership, the Canary Islands-based company aims to optimize its profitability and strengthen its competitive position in the face of fluctuating tourist spending patterns.
