The judicial authority has ordered the provisional detention without bail of the 40-year-old man arrested for the alleged stabbing of his partner, a 38-year-old woman, in a home in Vecindario, in the municipality of Santa Lucía de Tirajana. He is being investigated as the alleged perpetrator of attempted homicide.
The judge of the Violence Against Women Section of the Court of First Instance of San Bartolomé de Tirajana took a statement from the suspect this Friday and ordered the precautionary measure at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office . The man is accused of allegedly stabbing the victim six times during the early hours of Wednesday, September 9.
The suspect himself alerted the Civil Guard , reporting that he had attacked his partner with a knife . Several patrols were dispatched to the residence, where they found the woman with multiple injuries. Emergency medical services ordered her urgent transfer to a hospital in Gran Canaria , where she underwent surgery and remains hospitalized in serious condition.
The suspect was arrested at the same property. The victim was previously registered in the VioGén system for a case involving a former partner and was classified as low risk in the latest Police Risk Assessment . The investigation remains open to clarify all the circumstances of the attack.
