Alejandro Marichal: “These festivities have their own unique identity. The fact that sailors are the ones who announce them is a recognition of those who made the sea their way of life and contributed to building this town.”

Yilenia Vega: “The participation of the residents is essential because they are the ones who keep the traditions alive and give true meaning to each celebration.”

One of the most significant moments will arrive precisely with the start of the festivities. On Thursday, September 24th, at 20:30 p.m. , the opening address will take place , delivered by the town's sailors and dedicated to the fishermen and the fishing roots of Castillo del Romeral. Through their experiences, memories, and anecdotes, they will give voice to an essential part of the coastal town's history.

The First Deputy Mayor of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Alejandro Marichal , emphasizes that “these festivities have their own unique identity because they stem from the history and traditions of Castillo del Romeral. Having the sailors themselves open the celebrations by sharing their experiences is also a way of recognizing those who made the sea their way of life and contributed to building this town.”
