Massive deployment of officials in the courts of southern Gran Canaria

The judicial district of San Bartolomé de Tirajana is facing a turning point in its operational capacity with the consolidation of an ambitious structural reinforcement that mobilizes eleven new officials from the Judicial Support Corps and opens specific positions in the Public Prosecutor's Office of the territorial section. This injection of personnel, designed to handle the intense litigation resulting from the demographic and tourist pressure on the southern region of Gran Canaria, provides the judicial bodies with the essential human resources to alleviate the backlog in case processing.

The core of the administrative reinforcement is concentrated in the General Common Service of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, where eleven positions for Judicial Assistance officers have been filled through the latest open competitive examinations. Among the assigned posts, the filling of a specific position within the Violence Against Women (VSM) jurisdiction stands out, an extremely sensitive area requiring a swift and specialized response to safeguard victims.

These agents will assume critical functions in communications practice, records control and direct support to the duty and investigating courts, reducing processing times in a judicial district that registers very high volumes of cases due to the confluence of macro tourist complexes, floating population and crime associated with nightlife and commercial contracting.

Alongside the arrival of new civil servants, the reorganization of human resources extends to the Public Prosecutor's Office with the announcement of vacant positions in the San Bartolomé de Tirajana territorial section. The staffing plan includes the addition of a prosecutor and a public prosecutor's attorney, ensuring the permanent presence of representatives from the Public Prosecutor's Office at hearings, expedited trials, and preliminary investigations in the courts of southern Gran Canaria.

This joint allocation of prosecutorial and judicial support positions responds to the long-standing need to align the resources of the justice system in the archipelago's tourist areas with the actual volume of litigation. The provision of these personnel aims to eliminate procedural bottlenecks, guaranteeing legal certainty in a territory crucial to Gran Canaria's economy and improving the effective protection of the rights of citizens and businesses.
