Alejandro Marichal: “This project represents a significant boost to the municipality's economy and the creation of more than 250 direct and indirect jobs.”

The Local Governing Board of San Bartolomé de Tirajana approved this Thursday, October 1, the urban planning license for the construction of the new five-star Meloneras Boutique Hotel, an action with a material execution budget of 41.659.431 euros and which will incorporate 249 accommodation units and 500 places to the tourist offer of the municipality.
The project, promoted by Hijos de Francisco López Sánchez, will be developed on a 36.632 square meter plot in Meloneras 2A. The establishment will have 216 standard units, 24 suites, eight adapted for people with reduced mobility and one Imperial Suite.
The First Deputy Mayor of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Alejandro Marichal, emphasizes that “an investment of more than 41 million euros represents a significant boost to the municipality's economy. It is estimated that more than 250 direct and indirect jobs will be created, in addition to all the activity generated by a project of this magnitude in construction, installation, supply, maintenance, transportation, and other services subsequently linked to the hotel's operation.”
As explained by the Councilor for Urban Planning, Davinia Ramírez, “in addition to the 249 accommodation spaces, there will be restaurants, a spa, a gym, swimming pools, solariums, gardens, and service areas.” She further details that this is a significant investment that combines substantial financial resources with a technical solution adapted to the terrain's characteristics, given that “the project integrates into the different levels of the plot through a staggered building design and complies with the occupancy and building parameters established for this area,” she concludes.
The planned building footprint is 14.488,07 square meters, representing 39,55% of the plot, while the buildable area is 19.884,07 square meters. The project also includes 9.260 square meters of landscaped areas and 102 parking spaces. The estimated construction time is 36 months.

The work will allow for the renovation and restoration of 24 currently unused accommodation units through improvements to cladding, waterproofing, and facades, as well as the refurbishment of terraces, replacement of sanitary fixtures, upgrades to facilities, furniture renewal, and minor interior modifications. The project will not increase the number of units or the hotel's authorized capacity.
