The First Deputy Mayor, Alejandro Marichal , and the Councillor for Tourism, Festivities and Events, Yilenia Vega , accompanied the starting pistol of a festival that on Friday and Saturday transforms the beach environment into a meeting place for residents and tourists, combining music, gastronomy, market and leisure proposals for different ages.

The first afternoon began with music as the main protagonist with DJ Toni Bob , Salvapantalla , DJ Ulises , Daniel Calero , Calle Boogaloo and DJ Ardy who made up the lineup for a day that lasted until 02:00 a.m.

The First Deputy Mayor of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Alejandro Marichal, told the media that Tourifest adds value to the destination by creating experiences that allow people to enjoy Playa del Inglés in a different way and share them with residents and tourists. We want Maspalomas Costa Canaria to continue being a destination that surprises, creates memorable moments, and offers options for enjoying the beach at any time.

Marichal added that celebrating World Tourism Day over two weekends allows us to showcase different facets of the same destination. First, we did so through walks, local products, and family leisure activities in Meloneras, and now we're doing it through music and gatherings on the beach.

It will continue tomorrow, Saturday, October 3 , with a program that will begin at 14:00 p.m. and that seeks to especially involve families during the first hours of the day.

The sand area of Annex II will feature games and activities on the sand, family workshops, a market area and several food trucks, creating a space to spend the afternoon by the sea before the music takes center stage as the day progresses.

The Councillor for Tourism, Festivals and Events, Yilenia Vega, highlighted that this event is also a magnificent showcase for Maspalomas Costa Canaria. It allows us to boast about our sun, beaches, music, and outdoor activities in the middle of October. The images generated by Tourifest directly demonstrate one of our greatest assets as a destination: here you can continue to enjoy good weather and life by the sea all year round.

Every image of families playing on the sand, people enjoying music, or dancing by the sea is also a promotion for Maspalomas Costa Canaria. "Tourifest allows us to celebrate tourism and, at the same time, show the world why our destination continues to be a privileged place to enjoy at any time of year ," concludes Vega.

The musical program continues on Saturday with DJ Ruyman Melián , La Suerte de Mi Vida (a tribute to El Canto del Loco) , El Vega Life , and Yet Garbey , in addition to a drone show, fireworks, and DJ Iván Monagas to close out the fourth edition of Tourifest. The event will run until 02:00 AM.

With Tourifest, the Department of Tourism puts the finishing touch on the special program designed this year to extend the commemoration of World Tourism Day to two consecutive weekends and two emblematic locations: Maspalomas Costa Canaria , the Lighthouse and the Meloneras Promenade and the Playa del Inglés beach.
