The financing for the different projects comes from the Cabildo, Government of the Canary Islands and FEDER, to which are added those of the City Council
The mayor of Villa de Ingenio, Ana Hernández, reported in the ordinary January plenary session, held this Monday, of the investments that the City Council will receive this year from supra-municipal funds from the Cabildo, Government of the Canary Islands and the ERDF, in addition to those contributed by the City Council itself, which amount to 18.637.411,36 euros and which are intended to finance different projects for the urban and social development of the municipality.
Ana Hernández explains that the investments achieved for this year and the following “are the result of the work of this Government group, committed to the development of the municipality, and also to respond to the demands of the citizens, who deserve that we work decisively for it and that results are seen.”
The mayor also highlights the good relations with supra-municipal administrations such as the Cabildo of Gran Canaria and the regional government, "which are willing to collaborate on very important projects for this municipality."
Among the most notable aid is 3 million for the beginning of works on the Ingenio-Agüimes ring road, out of a total multi-year investment of 11 million; the construction of social housing in the El Cristo neighborhood, 1.968.933 euros, 970 thousand euros for the new nursery school and 300 thousand for the drafting of the connection of the road junction with the GC-1. All these projects come from funds from the Government of the Canary Islands, in addition to 2.543.704,80 euros to develop 8 programs in Alternation with Training and Employment (PFAE) at the Villa de Ingenio Employment Foundation. The improvement and adaptation of the Carrizal Civic Center, for which 1.400.000 are allocated, the drafting of the project and the execution of the new library in the Ingenio Casino building, 738.518,36 and the Employment Plan for households with all The members without resources, 550.000, appear in the FDCAN 2021-2022, which has a total investment of 2.688.518,36 euros for the two annuities and in which the regional government and the City Council participate. The rehabilitation project of the social housing of Cuesta Caballero (ARRU) will have 1.750.150,60 euros, which will be co-financed by the Government of Spain, the Government of the Canary Islands, the Cabildo and the City Council.
On the part of the Cabildo, investments reach 3,7 million euros and the main investments in the municipality appear to be the execution of the two phases of the rehabilitation of the social housing of El Sequero, which exceed 1,1 million, the comprehensive management of the socio-health center, 771.150 of a total investment of 1.542.300 euros, the drafting of the project for the new nursing home that will be located in the Mondragón neighborhood, 200 thousand euros of a total investment of 9 million, the change of the roof of the municipal swimming pool, 410 thousand euros, the improvements in the general service networks on Avenida Los Artesanos and other adjacent streets, 334.029,18 euros; and the purchase of the Cuevas del Palomar land, 40 thousand euros, among others.
The January ordinary plenary session, which opened with the Institutional Declaration of rejection of gender violence, also approved the municipality's adherence to the FECAM Institutional Declaration for the commemoration of the School Day for Peace and Non-Violence, the proposals of appointment of a Chief Justice of the Peace and the supporting account of subsidies granted to municipal political groups corresponding to the 2021 annuity and authorization and provision of expenditure for 2022, among other items on the agenda.
