Agents from the night shift of the Mogán Local Police were on the aforementioned road when they detected a vehicle driving abnormally
On Thursday, February 10, the Mogán Local Police arrested three young men after being intercepted on the GC-200, towards the town of Mogán, with 2,5 kilos of hashish. The driver was under the influence of cocaine and did not have a driving license.
Officers from the night shift of the Mogán Local Police were on the aforementioned road when they detected a vehicle traveling abnormally, proceeding for this reason to stop it right at the entrance crossroads to the historic center of the municipality, on Avenida de the Constitution.
Once the car is stopped, the driver is asked to show his driving license but does not have it, and is then subjected to alcohol and drug detection tests, which show a positive result for cocaine.
During the search of the vehicle, the agents found on the floor, in front of the passenger seat, a black backpack with several packages of hashish, weighing a total of 2,5 kilos. After being interrogated, the three men confess that they were going to the municipality of La Aldea de San Nicolás to deliver the drugs to another person. Finally the offenders were arrested.
The head of the Mogán Local Police, Jorge Alemán, has explained that this is a crime against public health and that the detainees will be brought to justice facing sentences of three to six years in prison according to article 368 of the Penal Code.
Already in March 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, the Mogán Local Police arrested four young people in Arguineguín after being intercepted with 1 kilo of hashish. In April of that same year, he did the same with an alleged drug seller from whom he seized hashish, cocaine, marijuana, a precision scale and more than 230 euros in cash.
