The Canarian vice president and the mayor review the state and regional investments planned in Santa Lucía de Tirajana
This Monday, the Canarian Tax Agency and the Santa Lucía de Tirajana City Council approved an agreement that will allow the free transfer of a municipally owned premises located in the La Ciel shopping center to reinforce the in-person attention of this organization in the town. and, by extension, in the southeast region of Gran Canaria.
The vice president and counselor of Finance, Budgets and European Affairs, Román Rodríguez - then president of the Agency - and the mayor of Santa Lucía, Francisco José García, reported today on the agreement during an institutional visit by the former, in which also reviewed the main investments to be carried out this year in the municipality.
Rodríguez explained that the agreement will improve the service provided to citizens of the entire southeastern region of Gran Canaria in the Neighborhood office, since the number of workers will be increased from one to four people and a comprehensive service menu will be offered. .
Until now, the premises functioned as a documentation collection point, as a registry, while from the signing of the agreement information, advice and assistance services will be offered.
The vice president highlighted the strategic nature of the Canarian Tax Agency for self-government, not in vain does it channel citizens' contributions to the maintenance of public services and infrastructure through taxes, "so we must always facilitate compliance with those obligations .
Rodríguez, who met with the mayor, first, and with the government group, then, also reviewed the investments planned in the General State Budgets - the result of the amendments presented at the time - and in the Canary Islands Budgets.
In this regard, the vice president recalled the million euros recorded in the state accounts for sanitation work thanks to an amendment presented by Nueva Canarias, in addition to the financing planned for the cultural center and museum in the town of Santa Lucía - with 700.000 euros - or for the expansion of the El Cardón educational center, with 1,8 million euros, both items in the Canarian Budgets. It so happens that this last project also received 735.000 euros last year from the autonomous government.
Rodríguez especially valued the work of the mayor and the tripartite that governs Santa Lucía, "who have always put what is important first, that is, work in favor of citizens and their well-being."
The mayor of Santa Lucía de Tirajana, Francisco García, thanked the vice president for the visit and assured that “the appropriate way of working between administrations is dialogue and consensus.” García highlighted the transfer of the premises to the Tax Agency and explained that this has been agreed for four years, extendable, which will result in an “improvement of the service provided to taxpayers throughout the region from here, which is also a reason of pride for us.” During the meeting they also discussed the health and educational needs of the municipality, including the important investment in the CEIP Cardón that the Government of the Canary Islands is making.
