The most international sporting event in Gran Canaria returns one more year, and this time in style, celebrating its twentieth anniversary. Today the different representatives of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, official sponsors and collaborators of the event met, thanks to whom the event continues to grow and celebrate its anniversary.
Antonio Morales, President of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, opened the presentation event by thanking all sponsors and collaborators for their support. Likewise, he stated that “Transgrancanaria projects the values of the island in an extraordinary way” and stated that “this event is already part of the annual programs, both public and private, of the island of Gran Canaria.” Finally, he added that “an event like this, with so much international participation, serves to unite different peoples, especially taking into account the current situation we are experiencing,” thus condemning what is happening in Ukraine.
For his part, Carlos Álamo, Tourism Councilor of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, in his turn to speak, highlighted the international projection of Transgrancanaria HG, noting that “from the Cabildo of Gran Canaria we have been in charge of supporting Transgrancanaria and the City Council. of San Bartolomé de Tirajana in those areas in which it has not been possible to act, so that this test can continue to be held successfully." Similarly, he stressed that “promoting the rural part with its trails and active tourism on the island is sometimes not easy, and the projection that Transgrancanaria gives us helps us put the focus of attention on this market niche.” He ended by highlighting that, “this year, Transgrancanaria is going to reach 90 countries thanks to the powerful streaming that we have prepared. "Very few Canarian events have this capacity and we are going to serve specialized journalists from different parts of Europe so that they get the best possible image of our tourist destination."
Samuel Henríquez, Sports Councilor of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council, expressed that “it was decisive that Transgrancanaria stayed in Maspalomas”, and highlighted the luxury of being able to do sports outdoors during the winter with the pleasant temperature there. around these dates.
The CEO of Arista Eventos, Fernando González, ended the first part of this presentation by remembering the beginnings of Transgrancanaria 20 years ago. “The first time it left from Agaete and ended at the Arinaga Pier. We were 65 participants and today we have almost 4000 of 60 nationalities. “This event is a very important economic driver for the island and active tourism.” He also pointed out that "since its beginnings, Transgrancanaria has found great support, from small brands at the beginning and with the support of different institutions today." He highlighted the effort made by the Cabildo of Gran Canaria to make this powerful streaming that will elevate the image of the event and the island worldwide. He ended his turn by highlighting that “we have always been innovating and varying the content so that other municipalities can also enjoy the exposure abroad and be part of Transgrancanaria.”
The second part of the event was dedicated to the official sponsors and collaborators of the east. Lorenzo Ortego, Director of the Vital Suites Hotel, expressed his enthusiasm for being able to be part of this event: “We are an establishment that is very committed to sports, and being part of the Transgrancanaria has been the icing on the cake.” From Fred. Olsen Express, Lorenzo Spinelli, Head of Sales, highlighted that “we are delighted to be part of this event for another year and contribute our grain of sand to this test moving forward.” Zoilo Alemán, MICE Director of Lopesan Hotel Management, Ida Vega representing Pepsi Max and Karen Cárdenes from Aguacana also emphasized the importance of this event and of working to attract active tourism to the island.
