Almost 100 second-year high school students from the Amurga and Aguañac centers have enjoyed these days their physical education classes taught by the Gran Canaria Sand Lizards beach volleyball club.
Several educational centers in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana have joined the project promoted by the Gran Canaria Sand Lizards beach volleyball club, in collaboration with the Department of Sports, in which they offer the opportunity to schoolchildren to enjoy their class. physical education in a leisure and beach environment.
In this way, this week it was the turn of almost 100 second-year high school students from the Aguañac and Amurga centers, who received a visit from the Councilor for Sports, Samuel Henríquez Quintana, and the Councilor for Education, Clara Inés Martel, who went to the Annex II area, in Playa del Inglés, to see first-hand the development of the activity.
The project, which aims to continue hosting different centers in the municipality, will last until the end of the course but, in the words of a representative of the club, it aims to "become an initiative that is consolidated and can be repeated in future academic years", since it is a unique opportunity, due to the climate we have, to bring this sport closer to the youth of the municipality.
