The auditor of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana city council, Tania Naya, expressed this Wednesday that her obligation is to defend the general interest and not particular matters. The official, who has the support of the mayor, Concepción Narváez, told Cope Las Palmas that she is not going to allow herself to be pressured by toxic complaints that seek to separate her from procedures that she is verifying and in which there could have been damage to the State's assets.
The senior official said that the complaint made by a businessman "is written by other people" and that "those people and we all know perfectly well who those people are, they do it with the only objective they have: to get me out of the way to continue roaming freely." ", doing what they have been doing for many years. Now their business has been ruined, because I am not going to jump through the cracks on different issues and I am not going to consent to different actions."
He added that he has been under pressure for some time since the functions of the auditor are, among others, to carry out a "pure and strict control of legality. Logically, as an auditor, I carry out legality control and I am the one who sends the reports to the competent administrations. That is the problem, because I am not going to jump through hoops on certain issues and what I see that is not correct I will say it and transfer it."
The Tirajana auditor pointed out that in her work of "legality control" certain issues have arisen: "lack of income, certain municipal procedures that are not known where they are... but it can be complicated by certain complaints that I have to make. Therefore, I cannot provide much more information than what I am giving, because first I will have to send the report to the corresponding entity and it does not seem correct to advance information here."
He concluded by saying that "I can tell you that there are a series of actions that are irregular and that cause financial damage to the administration. Our obligation is to warn you and try to regularize this situation."
