Drag Cabaret will fill the stage with transgression, magic and messages in defense of diversity and LGTBIQ+ rights. More than 50 people participate in this performance that will bring the atmosphere of the cabaret era to Berlin nights. Before the Drag Cabaret Night, the book carnival has scheduled the Encuentro de Murgas tonight at the Víctor Jara theater and the parade of murgas, troupes and batucadas on Friday afternoon on Avenida de Canarias.
José Carlos Campos, the Canarian actor who was part of the musical 'Cabaret' that toured dozens of Spanish cities, will be the master of ceremonies of the Drag Cabaret Night along with actress Yanely Hernández. Stories from books are also included in the show.
The public who attends the Drag Cabaret Night will be able to enjoy drag performances from all over the island. The singer Luci Calcines, the young Canarian resident of Vecindario who managed to reach the final of the 'La Voz' contest in the United Kingdom, will also perform. Luci is of Cuban origin and became the first Latina finalist in this contest. Other stars of the night will be Levi and Estrella, the Canarians who reached the final of the television program Go Talent thanks to their dance and acrobatics show. Levi López and Estrella Jiménez conquered the audience and the jury at the Go Talent final and will once again show their talent to the audience of the Víctor Jara theater.
The Councilor for Culture, Yaiza Pérez, highlights that “we are in the final stretch of the Carnival of Books, with the events this afternoon and tomorrow, Friday and Saturday, with the Super Abuela concert, I want to invite citizens to Go to the events you can and enjoy this carnival that we have been able to do thanks to the work of many people.”
The Santa Luceño carnival programming continues this Thursday afternoon with the Encuentro de Murgas at 20 p.m. at the Víctor Jara theater, which will feature the participation of Lengüetudos, Tramposas, Despistadas and Los Chancletas. On Friday afternoon on Avenida de Canarias there will be the Carnival Parade with the Aragüimé troupe, the Lenguetudos murga, second prize for costumes in the carnival contest of the capital of Gran Canaria, and the Santa Star and Samba Isleña batucadas. On Saturday at 12 noon there will be the Family Carnival with a performance by Supergrandmother.
